We believe our educators are life-long learners that nurture their students’ innate curiosity by providing them with experiential learning and an introduction to academics in a fun, interactive way.
Our educators create a culture of inclusion, respect and collaboration all the while celebrating independence and autonomy. They collaborate with the students, acting as guides as they pose questions and allow students to draw conclusions and develop ideas about the world around them. They encourage creativity and independent thinking, deeply listen when the children have something to say and support them through social-emotional challenges in a loving, compassionate way. Our vision to create a unique learning environment is demonstrated by the efforts of our team as they consistently learn new skills and tool and demonstrate flexibility to try new things. Marigold teachers are certainly very special and everyone was invited to join our team based on their experience, enthusiasm, and desire to create an environment in which children love to learn.
Leadership Team.
True to Marigold’s mission to do things differently, our “Principal” role is made up of 4 people, maximizing individual strengths and ensuring that decisions being made take into account the perspectives of the community as a whole.
Ibu Sophie, Ibu Candice, Ibu Laura, Ibu Katie.
Ibu Sophie is our Head of Academics and her main focus is on curriculum development and teacher training. When she’s not in the classroom she spends her time observing other classes, checking in with the teachers, and gathering feedback for the management team. This crucial link and on-going collaboration with the teaching team is essential to ensure that whole school approaches and ethos are being carried out in the classrooms and that decisions being made have the “teacher voice” being considered.
Ibu Candice is a Co-Founder and the Head of Community, directing the overall vision for Marigold and ensuring that the community as a whole is working together smoothly. She spends her time overseeing human resources, community events and extracurricular programs. She is also the liaison to our parent association gathering valuable feedback and getting our parents involved with their amazing talents. Together with Ibu Sophie and Ibu Katie, she ensures that the learning program is holistic and engaging. Candice’s two children are also students at Marigold.
Ibu Laura is a Co-Founder and Head of Finance and Operations, with her day to day activities including all finance matters as well as technology tools and operational activities that are required to keep the school functioning. Laura also works closely with the other 3 members of the management team to ensure that we are consistently making improvements with these systems, taking into account overall community and school needs. Laura’s daughter is also a student at Marigold.
Ibu Katie is our Community Counselor, spending her time ensuring that students, parents and teachers have a safe space to express from the heart and to provide the tools and guidance required for navigating social and emotional journeys. She ensures that the overall health and well-being of our community is being prioritized and that children have the support from all care givers should they be struggling. Ibu Katie also oversees our Health Studies program in close collaboration with Ibu Sophie and provides direction for our Social Emotional Learning Focus (SELF) classes. Ibu Katie is also a Marigold parent with two children at school.
The Marigold Community Learning Team
Our team of dedicated professionals put their hearts and souls into creating the most vibrant, enriching learning environment for the children. We have a mix of expats and local Indonesian team members representing a diverse set of cultures and religions, creating opportunities for the children to learn more about their host country. Marigold is committed to ensuring the health and well being of our teaching team as they represent a key ingredient for ensuring that we have a thriving community.
Teaching Assistants.
Our teaching assistants have a passion for education and many have worked as lead teachers throughout Indonesia. Marigold provides many opportunities to up-skill and learn new tools enabling our assistants to develop their professional skills.
