Sample Classroom Timetables
Pre-K Prep to Grade 6
At Marigold, the class names are in Bahasa Indonesia and represent the phases of growth and universal symbols of life. Timetables are created based on the learning needs of the age group and include a mix of academics and holistic learning.
The below timetables are representative of typical week at Marigold, however, there are sometimes changes in learning blocks to provide a variety of learning or to meet an identified area of interest that the children have.
YOUNGER YEARS
BUMI - “EARTH”
3 YEAR OLDS
Bumi is our Pre-K Prep class. Their days are focused on play based learning and include a mix of movement and expressive activities. Introduction to numbers and letters are through fun activities in a relaxed manner - through art, body movement, stories and games. Project Based Learning is incorporated into the learning and Project time gives the class dedicated time to focus on their projects related to the theme. After lunch time, all three Younger Years classes join together for a different group activity every day. The children spend most of their days outside, utilizing our outdoor spaces for various activities and learning opportunities.
BIJI - “SEED”
4 YEAR OLDS
Biji is our Pre-K class. Their days are focused on play based learning and include a mix of movement and expressive activities. Introduction to numbers and letters are through fun activities in a relaxed manner - through art, body movement, stories and games. Project Based Learning is incorporated into the learning and Project time gives the class dedicated time to focus on their projects related to the theme. After lunch time, all three Younger Years classes join together for a different group activity every day. The children spend most of their days outside, utilizing our outdoor spaces for various activities and learning opportunities.
TUMBUH - “SPROUT”
5 YEAR OLDS
Tumbuh is our Kindergaten class. Their days are focused on play based learning and include a mix of movement and expressive activities. Introduction to numbers and letters are through fun activities in a relaxed manner - through art, body movement, stories and games. Literacy classes include more of a focus on Jolly Phonics as they prepare to enter Bunga, the Grade 1 class. Project Based Learning is incorporated into the learning and Project time gives the class dedicated time to focus on their projects related to the theme. After lunch time, all three Younger Years classes join together for a different group activity every day. The children spend most of their days outside, utilizing our outdoor spaces for various activities and learning opportunities.
PRIMARY
BUNGA - “FLOWER”
6 YEAR OLDS
Bunga is our Grade 1 class. More academic blocks are being introduced and they spend their time before lunch focused mostly on math and literacy. Additionally, subjects like social studies, creative arts, and choir are incorporated into their weekly activities. The social studies block will change periodically to focus on other subjects such as geography and history. After lunch time they spend 15 minutes on meditation to settle into the afternoon class time. On Fridays, the children have a Community Meeting during which they discuss issues that may be arising at school and different solutions for how to solve them. Once a month, the community meeting time slot is a whole school community event.
UDARA - “AIR”
7 YEAR OLDS
Udara is our Grade 2 class. More academic blocks are being introduced and they spend their time before lunch focused mostly on math and literacy. Additionally, subject like social studies, creative arts, and choir are incorporated into their weekly activities. The social studies block encompasses a broad range of topics including geography and history. After lunch time they spend 15 minutes on meditation to settle into the afternoon class time. On Fridays, the children have a Community Meeting during which they discuss issues that may be arising at school and different solutions for how to solve them. Once a month, the community meeting time slot is a whole school community event.
AIR - “WATER”
8 YEAR OLDS
Air is our Grade 3 class. More academics are being introduced and they spend their time before lunch focused mostly on math and literacy. Additionally, subjects like social studies, creative arts, and choir are incorporated into their weekly activities. The social studies block encompasses a broad range of topics including geography and history. Book club represents an opportunity to immerse themselves in a book and explore creative aspects such as discussions and role playing. After lunch time they spend 15 minutes on meditation to settle into the afternoon class time. On Fridays, the children have a Community Meeting during which they discuss issues that may be arising at school and different solutions for how to solve them. Once a month, the community meeting time slot is a whole school community event. SELF class is dedicated to social emotional learning focus and topics range from inclusion, boundaries, and confidence. This class is dedicated to what is needed at the time for children to discuss in a safe supported space.
MATAHARI - “SUN”
10 YEAR OLDS
Matahari is s our Grade 5 class. More academics are being introduced and they spend their time before lunch focused mostly on math and literacy. Additionally, subjects like social studies, creative arts, and choir are incorporated into their weekly activities. The social studies block will change periodically to focus on other subjects such as geography and history. Additionally, subjects like social studies, creative arts, and choir are incorporated into their weekly activities.
