Learning Envoironment

A boutique learning experience for children 3 to 12 years of age.

Our class sizes are small, ranging from 12-15 students, depending on age group, physical room size, and class dynamics. We maintain a child to teacher ratio of 6-7 children to 1 teacher in all classes. Every class has a lead teacher with at least one teaching assistant. Additionally we have floating assistants that help when necessary. Primary students spend the majority of every day being taught by expat teachers and all literacy classes are taught by native English speaking educators. Our full time Community Counselor is onsite to support the students through any challenges that might come up during the day - anything from transitions, to having big emotions, to navigating social conflict.

Children are placed into classes based on their age as of September 1 of the academic year. For children that have birthdates close to the cut-off date, we can work with the family to determine which age group is best for placement. We have a strong focus on the child’s needs, including academic skill level and emotional maturity. Any decisions made to place children otherwise are based on how Marigold can best support your child, providing them with a classroom environment that nurtures their confidence and allows their academic, social, and emotional skills to flourish.

Our views on discipline.

Marigold aims to foster an innate sense of making positive choices and understanding one’s impact on themselves and those around them. We do not promote punishments and rewards as mechanisms to keep children “under control”. Rather, children participate in the creation of classroom and playground agreements. With natural consequences as the result for not following agreements, children understand the “why” behind necessary boundaries in place for safety and an environment that promotes learning.
